Sinopsis:  Cannizaro’nun kaybı ile başa çıkmak için şiiri kullanarak deneysel bir film yapmaya kalkıştığı süreçte film, 
yavaşça, denemeyi keşif aracı olarak kullanan şiirsel bir filme dönüşüyor. “Beatrice of 9” kayıp, şiir, Dante ve film yapımı üzerine, meditatif dokuz kısa sine-şiir’den oluşan katmanlı bir deneysel belgeseldir.  
What began as an experimental film attempting to use poetry to understand and cope with a loss slowly evolved into a poetic film that uses experimentation as a means to discovery. 'Beatrice of 9' is a multi-layered, experimental documentary on loss, poetry, Dante, and Film making- a meditation consisting of nine short Cine-poems, an analysis of their content and composition, and ultimately a personal journey into the creative process.  
Yönetmen Bio: John Cannizzaro, özellikle Super 8 mm ve 16 mm filmlerinde deneysel film ve stop-motion animasyonlar 
üretmektedir. Çocukluk, hafıza, düşler, din ve film yapımı gibi çeşitli konuları keşfederek filmleri anlatı, belgesel, animasyon ve şiir arasındaki sınırları bulanıklaştırır. Cannizzaro şimdiye dek kendi prodüksiyon şirketi ve bir 16 mm film arşivi olan Smokehouse Films etiketiyle, “50 Feet That Shook The World”, “Gulliver’s Travels”, “America The Beautiful”, “Critical Mass” ve “Fountain of Youth” gibi dünyanın birçok 
festivaline gösterilmiş filmlere imza attı.  
John Cannizzaro is a maker of experimental films and stop-motion animations – working primarily in Super8mm and 16mm film. Exploring such diverse themes as childhood, memory, dreams, religion, and film making, his films blur the boundaries between narrative, documentary, animation, and poetry. Under the banner of Smokehouse Films – his production company and 16mm film archive ( which specializes in 
animated and ethnographic films) – Cannizzaro has produced many films including “50 Feet That Shook The World”, “Gulliver’s Travels”, “America The Beautiful”, “Critical Mass”, and “Fountain of Youth” which have played in film festivals around the world.
